Kansai Airport is Japans first 24-hour, state-of-the-art international hub. Located on the opposite shore of the airport is Rinku Town - a new experiment in zoning that has been attracting enormous public attention as a possible model for future cities. Rinku Town is split into nine zones; manufacturing, residential, industrial complex, park and green belt, etc., each serving its own special purpose. Kansai Airport Washington Hotel opened its 504 rooms in Rinku Town, on April 13, 2000. Rooms were designed for relaxation and include many amenities. Facilities for business travelers are also readily available. Free shuttle bus services between the hotel and the airport are also available.
