The collection of Baroque paintings and sculptures on show acquaints visitors with the development of stylistic trends in the fine arts specific to Bohemia and Silesia during the course of the 17th and 18th centuries. The exhibition is dominated by a collection of works by four key figures from the Czech Baroque: portraits, altarpieces and easel paintings by Karel Škréta represent the defining character of Baroque painting during the 17th century; the painting collection by Petr Brandl and Václav Vavrinec Reiner and the sculptures by Matyáš Bernard Braun illustrate the stylistic tendencies of the high Baroque and the early Rococo...
