The selected exhibits from the medieval art collection represent the outstanding and diverse artistic achievements on the territory of Slovenia from the beginning of the 12th century to the middle of the 16th century. This period is generally characterized by the emergence and development of the gothic style, however, some initial works date back into romanesque times.
